Little Women, The Broadway Musical, is a heartwarming look at the lives of the four March sisters as they grow up and find their voices against the backdrop of the Civil War. Full of hope and adventure, memorable song, humor and heartbreak, the show (and beloved book) is based loosely on Louisa May Alcott's life.

AUDITION Info for "Little Women, the Musical"

Audition Date:  Monday, March 23, 2026, at 7:00pm

Location: Citizens Bank Theater, 72 Eyland Avenue, Horseshoe Lake Complex, Succasunna, NJ

​

Callbacks by Invitation Only: Tuesday, March 24, 2026, 7:00 pm

​

  • Interested performers should arrive 10–15 minutes early to fill out audition forms. 

​

  • Auditioners must arrive no later than 8:00 pm

 

  • All roles are available. Casting is open to all adults of any age. All ethnicities, races, and newcomers are especially welcome. Crew, volunteers and day-of-performance volunteers are also needed for the event.

 

  • Headshots and résumés are encouraged but not mandatory.

 

  • Video submissions will be accepted and must be emailed to shows.raa@gmail.com  by March 20, 2026.

 

 

What to Prepare:

32 bars of a song from the show or in the style of the show. Please make sure all sheet music is clearly marked. An accompanist will be available at the audition.

​

Jo March

Our story's protagonist. Passionate, adventurous, and brave. She has the idea of writing Little Women and eventually

becomes engaged to Professor Bhaer.

Gender: female       Age: 18 to 23

Professor Bhaer

German Professor who exemplifies proper manners. He is a boarder in Mrs. Kirk's boarding house and eventually falls in love with Jo.

Amy March

The youngest, most energetic sister with a rather pompous air about her. She later marries Laurie. Can double as Troll.

Meg March

The world-weary, yet hopeful, oldest sister who yearns for a great life. She marries John and has twins with him. Can double as Clarissa.

Beth March

The second youngest sister who tragically dies of Scarlet Fever. Peace-maker, lover, and an optimist who is always encouraging

her sisters to dream. Can double as Rodrigo II.

Marmee March

The girls' mother. She is the strong backbone of the family, who is courageous in spite of the difficult odds she faces. Can double as Hag.

Theodore “Laurie” Laurence

The bright-eyed boy-next-door with considerable charm. He loves Jo but later falls in love with Amy.

Mr. Lawrence

Laurie’s grandfather. A stiff and stern elderly man who eventually shows his softer side and gives Beth the beloved piano that

belonged to his dead daughter.

Aunt March

A formidable, over-bearing matron and great-aunt to the March sisters. The wealthy socialite in town. Can double as Mrs. Kirk.

Mr. John Brooke

Laurie's tutor and a rather stiff man; shows very little emotion. He later marries Meg and changes.
