About the event
Auditions for the Roxbury Arts Alliance's Spring Drama "Proof" will take place March 1st (7-9pm) and 2nd (3-5pm)
The show will run May 10, 11, 17, 18, & 19th
Come prepared to audition with a 1-minute monologue from a play you choose that is not from Proof. Auditioners are encouraged to arrive at the beginning of the audition session.
Summary:
An enigmatic young woman, Catherine, her manipulative sister, Claire, their brilliant, recently deceased father, Robert, and an unexpected suitor, Hal, are all pieces of the puzzle in the search for the truth behind a mathematical proof.
Cast:
Catherine: 20s
Inherited much of her father's mathematical genius and, she fears, his "instability" as well. She gave up her life and schooling to take care of her father until his recent death.
Claire: 30s
Catherine's older sister. She left her family and home of her youth to make a successful life for herself in New York City.
Robert: 50s-60s
A recently deceased mathematician praised for his groundbreaking work in his youth, but whose later years were plagued by mental illness.
Hal: 20s
One of Robert's last Ph.D. students during the year his mental illness was in remission.
